I cannot recall who said that it is easy to do the right things when it is easy, try to do the right things when it is tough. …..
History knows many examples when the majority was wrong by punishing innocent people who were telling the truth.
I am very sure that this unfair trend will continue to take place. However, if we don’t try to change it, we shall ask ourselves the following question: do we have the right to talk about justice? If we are too busy to consider facts and prefer to issue our verdict as soon as possible, we lose our right to have an opinion on what is fair and what is not.
It might be the right moment to start being honest with ourselves because it appears that a very talented person is about to everything she worked for so many years. Ironically, she is about to lose it for no reason whatsoever. I am talking about the recent incident which involves one of the best comedians in the world, Kathy Griffin.
Here is what I think. I do not consider the photo of Kathy Griffin posing with a bloody mask representing a beheaded President Trump published in May 2017 as the right choice. It was a bad joke, nothing less and nothing more. But I also do not think that the reaction that followed was the right one either. Moreover, I think that the reaction was more inappropriate and disgusting than the bad photo joke.
In my opinion, those who were so quick to criticise her simply lost focus. Her message was taken out of context. Whether willingly or not, her critics helped a certain group of people in their attempt to restrict freedom of speech.
Perhaps the most painful for her was to witness that people whom she considered as her friends were one of the first who expressed their disappointment. Blinded by political correctness they, somehow, forgot that the photo, in fact, is a legitimate response to a whole stream of unacceptable actions.
Therefore, we need to take a closer look at the entire picture and decide what is worse, the bad joke of a comedian or cauntless statements and actions of a person who leads #1 economy in the world? Whoes actions put millions of lives at risk, have potential to damage national security or lead to much more serious consequences?
Here is Kathy Griffin’s joke
Here is Donald Trump
Donald Trump wrote in “The Art of the Deal” that if you tell people a lie three times, they will believe it.
In March 2017, the cover of Time Magazine featured a single three-word question in bold red type: “Is Truth Dead?”. Although Donald Trump was not on the cover, he was the subject of the magazine’s cover story.
Business Insider reported that Time’s cover is a callback to its famous 1966 cover—“Is God Dead?”—and as such, it’s an eye-catcher. The story highlights a side of Trump that much of the mainstream media have until recently failed, or neglected, to properly convey: his fundamental dishonesty.
The question on the magazine’s cover refers to Trump’s apparent ability to lie, dissemble, and distract from the truth—and to not only get away with it but to ride those lies to the world’s most powerful office.
It is important to highlight that Donald Trump invited Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russia’s ambassador to the US to the Oval Office one day after he fired FBI Director James Comey. The White House did not post photos of the meeting until Thursday. The White House did not anticipate that the Russian government would allow its state news agency to post photographs of an Oval Office meeting. Therefore, photos of the meeting were published the next day.
The Washington Post reported that Trump’s Twitter feed is a gold mine for every foreign intelligence agency. Usually, intelligence officers’ efforts to collect information on world leaders are methodical, painstaking and often covert. CIA operatives have risked their lives to learn about foreign leaders so the United States could devise strategies to counter our adversaries. With Trump, though, secret operations are not necessary to understand what’s on his mind: The president’s unfiltered thoughts are available night and day, broadcast to his 32.7 million Twitter followers immediately and without much obvious mediation by diplomats, strategists or handlers.
I am not going into details of how Trump managed to cause a substantial damage to a long-term partnership with EU & NATO, his tax reforms and healthcare bill or his unprecedented conflict of interest. However, there is no doubt that his strange political course will have consequences.
That is why it is vital to remember the difference between “good” and “bad”. Considering that Kathy Griffin did not commit a crime, she shall not be punished. Besides, if after so many cases Donald Trump remains in the White House, Kathy Griffin shall come back to what she deserves and does the best – comedy.

Dear Kathy Griffin, please come back 🙂
